Upon arrival, younger fans are encouraged to begin their journey by “catching” their own plush lobster at check-in. Pastry Chef Robert Differ will sweeten the arrival with the delivery of a New England sea-life-inspired cookie creation, which will include a personalized “message in a bottle” for each child.

An exclusive “treasure map” of Boston, showcasing concierge recommended “must-visit” kid-friendly destinations throughout the city, will be featured within each unrolled scroll. The quest for treasure will conclude with the discovery of a secret “X that marks the spot,” hidden within the hotel, ready to be found. A selection of child-friendly guestroom amenities including mini bathrobes and slippers will complete this exciting family travel experience.

“This program is designed for families to embark on a personalized self-guided tour of Boston,” said Philipp Knuepfer, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Boston. “We wanted to inspire a sense of excitement and exploration as families discover the many historic landmarks and attractions that Boston has to offer and makes this city so unique; float on a swan boat through the Public Garden, dump tea into the Boston Harbor at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum or snap a selfie with Mr. & Mrs. Mallard at the Make Way for Ducklings statue, honoring Robert McCloskey's classic Boston-based children's book.”

Throughout each family’s sightseeing and photography expedition, guests are encouraged to capture special moments and share their favorite family photos, posting them to social media, tagging @MO_Boston and using designated hashtags #MOboston and #MOMiniMate.

Mandarin Oriental, Boston’s Mini Mate kids program is available year-round and is complimentary for all the hotel’s young travel guests.

Waterville Valley Resort in Waterville, New Hampshire, announced this month that it has secured funding to begin work on Phase II of its $7.5 million capital improvements plan that began with the Green Peak Expansion in Fall 2016. Phase II of this capital investment program will bring multi-year infrastructure upgrades and improvements throughout the resort.

“This is the second step in the most exciting revitalization of Waterville Valley Resort in over 30 years. We are proud to be the only mountain on the East Coast pursuing a renovation of this magnitude” says John H. Sununu, Waterville Valley Resort CEO and Chairman.

The Green Peak Expansion project added a second peak and 45 additional acres of terrain in 2016-17. Phase II of development will include new projects throughout the resort, as well as the completion of the Green Peak Expansion. Work will include additional Green Peak trail clearing and installation of a new snowmaking system, upgrades to existing snowmaking infrastructure on Mount Tecumseh, multiple lift enhancements, base lodge renovations, a new beginner area experience, nordic trail system improvements, and additional summer offerings.

“It is very exciting to be progressing to the next level of development of Waterville Valley Resort and bring to life the vision of our ownership, fellow employees, and guests,” said Tim Smith, President and General Manager. “Financing from The Provident Bank is allowing us to look to the future and continue our evolution, on and off the slopes.”

In anticipation of the major enhancements set to debut throughout the 2017/18 Season, a 10-day Seasonal Pass Flash Sale ending on Friday, June 23rd will offer the lowest pricing of the year on seasonal products for one last time.
