Rhode Island-based REGENT, the company pioneering all electric seagliders for zero-emission coastal travel, announced in October, 2023, that it will partner with Surf Air Mobility to establish a base for seaglider operations in Miami. The new service will provide passenger transport service for South Florida, including routes from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and the Caribbean Islands. This deal is the continuation of a longstanding relationship between REGENT and Surf Air subsidiary Southern Airways. The seagliders may be in service as soon as 2027.

Approximately 9 million passengers travel through South Florida each year across commercial air, ferry, rail, and car. Miami-based seaglider operations could serve as many as 1.5 million passengers annually, connecting travelers between coastal destinations as well as major transportation hubs including Miami International Airport and PortMiami. beginning on Oct. 16, 2024. A sampling of the new and longer cruise itineraries now open for sale include:
Nine-Day Exotic Western Caribbean Sailing departs
Oct. 16, 2024, with stops in Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman, Cayman
Islands; Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan; Belize; and Cozumel, Mexico.
10-Day Panama Canal Sailing departs Nov. 15, 2024,
featuring stops in Cozumel, Mexico; Limon, Costa Rica; Colon, Panama
(and tours of the Panama Canal); and Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan.
11-Day Exotic Caribbean Sailing departs Nov. 25, 2024, with visits to Montego Bay, Jamaica; Amber Cove; Grand Turk; Princess Cays and Nassau, The Bahamas.
Full details on Carnival Miracle’s new sailings from Galveston can be found here.
The 2,200-guest Carnival Miracle recently completed a dry dock where
Carnival’s stunning new red, white and blue livery was added to the
ship’s hull. The livery serves as an homage to the patriotic colors that
also represent Carnival, which proudly sails as America’s Cruise Line.
Carnival Miracle features many of the signature venues guests know and
love – from Guy’s Burger Joint to the BlueIguana Cantina, the RedFrog
and Alchemy bars, as well as WaterWorks Aqua Park and The Punchliner
Comedy Club.
Carnival Miracle will further diversify Carnival’s deployment from
Galveston, joining Carnival Breeze, which offers four- and five-day
cruises; Carnival Dream, which sails mostly six- and eight-day cruises,
and the new Excel-Class Carnival Jubilee featuring a rollercoaster, which arrives this December to begin week-long Western Caribbean sailings.

Star Clippers is offering 34 departures in the Caribbean from December 2019 through
March 2020. Two ships—Royal Clipper and Star Flyer—call on the
islands of St. Maarten, Barbados and Antigua, as well as lesser-known
gems, such as Isles de Saintes, Nevis, Dominica and Anguilla.
Guests booking select seven-night
Windward Island and Grenadine Island sailings, seven-night Antigua to
Barbados, and the 16-night Barbados to Lisbon ocean crossing on board
the Royal Clipper, receive two complimentary nights at the Accra Beach
Hotel & Spa, a full service resort in Christ Church, Barbados.
Guests
who book select 14-night Panama and seven-night Treasure and Leeward
Island itineraries, will receive a two-night stay at the charming Holland
House beach hotel in downtown Philipsburg, St. Maarten.

Visiting the Caribbean on board a clipper ship is a unique and
unrivaled experience. These ships are true sailing vessels, using wind
power whenever possible to navigate between islands. Gliding into port
under full sail is a thrilling experience, and one that allows guests to
imagine what it must have been like for the early explorers who arrived
in this exotic region on very similar vessels (minus, of course, the
onboard luxuries like a full-service spa and multiple swimming pools).
And while larger cruise ships disembark their passengers into busy ports
filled with aggressive tourist shops, Star Clippers ships cast anchor
in remote harbors populated with local businesses and housing private
yachts. Small tender boats take guests to and from shore—often to visit
charming towns or off-the-beaten-path beaches where it’s not unusual to
be one of only a handful of snorkelers or sunbathers.
