JetBlue to Add Nonstop Flights to Bermuda from LaGuardia Airport; United Airlines Will Resume Service from Newark to BDA

Dreaming of an escape to the pink, sandy shores of Bermuda? JetBlue will introduce nonstop, once-daily seasonal flights from New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Bermuda (BDA).

All new JetBlue routes will go on sale in January 2023. Additionally, United Airlines’ service from Newark (New Jersey) to Bermuda will start in March 2023, six weeks earlier than anticipated.

“We’re thrilled to resume United Airlines service and welcome JetBlue’s expanded service to Bermuda in 2023,” said Erin Smith, Bermuda Tourism Authority’s Chief Operations Officer. “It’s a signal that as our sales and marketing efforts continue to make headway, tourism in Bermuda continues to move in the right direction — and with a 90-minute flight time between the destinations, the island will be the ideal destination for a vacation next year.”

A New Observatory to Open at the Prudential Center in 2023

The Prudential Tower in Boston's Back Bay, will have a new attraction in 2023. The top 3 floors are being transformed into a world-class observatory called "View Boston."

After many decades, the former occupants Top of the Hub restaurant and Skywalk Observatory, ceased operations in 2020.

The new project is a partnership of Boston Properties, Inc., and the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau. At "View Boston," you can curate your ultimate Boston itinerary, while interacting with state-of-the-art immersive, experiential exhibits. 

With its expansive and panaromic views, the new design will also feature an indoor/outdoor cocktail lounge and bistro.

Introducing The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Boston, South Station Tower

The new 51-story, 1,020,000-square-foot mixed-use building being constructed at South Station in Boston, will feature luxury condominiums on the top 16 floors.

Hines, a privately owned global real estate investment firm, and developer of the project, has partnered with the world-renowned Ritz-Carlton brand. 

The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Boston, South Station Tower is slated to open in 2025.

The residential component of the tower will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences along with penthouse duplex homes.

Cayman Airways Welcome Two More Young Pilots

Two more young Caymanian pilots, Nathan Myers and Leanni Tibbetts, have successfully completed Cayman Airways’ rigorous recruitment and training programme to become the newest First Officers on the airline’s Twin Otter fleet operated by Cayman Airways Express, a subsidiary of Cayman Airways Limited (CAL).

Harvard Book Store to Open New Branch in Boston’s Prudential Center

Cambridge-based Harvard Book Store, has announced the opening of a new store in Boston’s Prudential Center, in the Spring of 2023. The new location will contain a wide selection of books, a state-of-the-art event space, a large children’s book section, and vibrant community spaces. 

The store will be located in the space previously occupied by Barnes and Noble.

Jeff Mayersohn, co-owner of Harvard Book Store, said, “We are delighted to bring Harvard Book Store to the City of Boston, while continuing our long tradition of bookselling at our flagship Cambridge location. This is an ambitious project and we think we’ve established an excellent team to bring it to fruition. We envision it as an important addition to the literary life in the city and a welcoming space serving the many communities of Boston. We thank John and Linda Henry, whose recent investment in our company enables us to expand in this way.”

Bryan Koop, Executive Vice President of Boston Properties for the Boston Region, said, “We look forward to welcoming Harvard Book Store to Prudential Center. We are particularly excited about providing another home for the bookstore’s award-winning event series, which will attract many thousands of visitors annually."

The new store will occupy over 29,000 square feet in Boston’s Back Bay. Project consultants include the design collaborative Bergmeyer, Colliers Project Leaders, and the construction management firm Gilbane Building Company.

Harvard Book Store is an independent bookstore located in Harvard Square and founded in 1932, celebrated for its inventory and curation—a blend of academic and general interest titles. The store is also renowned for its author event series, hosting hundreds of book talks and signings annually, and has been recognized over the years as Boston magazine's "Best Bookstore" (2014), "Best Literary Series" (2017, 2018), "Best Neighborhood Shop" (2019), “Best Virtual Author Series” (2020, 2021), and “Best Old-School Bookstore” (2022). Harvard Book Store is owned by Jeff Mayersohn and Linda Seamonson, who bought the store in 2008, and John W. Henry—principal owner of the Boston Globe and the Boston Red Sox, among other holdings—who joined the ownership group last December.

Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston Introduces New French Riviera Brunch Experience at One+One

Home to one of Boston’s best breakfast destinations, One+One at Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston is launching a new French Riviera Brunch by Chef Daniel Burger. The beautiful One+One dining room will transport guests to the South of France through the sounds of modern French music, delicious savoury and sweet dishes plus apéros and specialty coffee drinks.

The French Riviera Brunch experience begins with a decadent buffet that features assorted French pastries by Executive Pastry Chef Rob Differ as well as fruits, parfaits, salads, cheese and charcuterie. Guests are also invited to indulge in French entrées such as salade Niçoise and Cap-Ferrat pain perdu while toasting to summer with a glass of rosé.

One+One’s brunch offers a selection of apéros such as the Rosé Spritz featuring Château Barbebelle rosé, crème de pamplemousse, St-Germain and bitter lemon soda, or the refreshing Riviera Cooler with Ketel One cucumber-mint vodka, lime, simple syrup and yuzu-lime tonic.

Additionally, specialty hot beverages include the Orange Flat White with house made orange syrup, Salted Carmel Macchiato topped with a salted caramel biscotti and S’Mores Hot Chocolate with graham crumble and torched marshmallow, all served in handmade, colourful mugs created by local Boston artists from The Clay Lounge in the South End.

Experience an Evening of Dinner and Conversation With Julian Fellowes, Creator of “The Gilded Age"

The Preservation Society of Newport County, will host a special evening with Julian Fellowes on July 26, 2022, at The Breakers.

Oscar and Emmy-winning Fellowes, created the popular "Downton Abbey" and "Gilded Age" TV series.

The event will feature dinner and conversation with Fellowes in the opulent setting of the Great Hall of The Breakers. The evening will begin with cocktails, followed by a sit-down dinner. Fellowes will converse with an interviewer for approximately 30 minutes and will take questions before dessert is served. He will be presented with the Antiquarian Award at the event.
