Sandals Resorts International is Expanding Its Beaches® Resorts Portfolio to St. Vincent and the Grenadines

The world’s leading all-inclusive company, Sandals Resorts International, is making a splash in a new Caribbean destination. Sandals Resorts International announced today that it will be expanding its Beaches® Resorts portfolio to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, its eighth island in the Caribbean, and a new destination for the brand, following the acquisition of Buccament Bay Spa and Resort. According to Sandals Resorts International’s Founder and Chairman, the Hon. Gordon “Butch” Stewart, “investing in St. Vincent and its captivating people, was not only compelling, but a natural next step for continued expansion within the Eastern Caribbean. Beginning with our first entry in Saint Lucia many years ago and more recently Grenada and Barbados, we are champions of growth for the Eastern Caribbean, and it has remained at the forefront of our expansion strategy,” said Stewart. “Expanding into a brand-new destination ushers in the tremendous opportunity for new and existing team members to experience a whole new way of life and professional growth path. The minute our customers land in St. Vincent, they will be enchanted with its magnificence. The resort hugs the Caribbean Sea and is nestled within a lush mountain range and neighboring rainforest. Best of all, it’s only a short drive from the newly constructed Argyle International Airport.”

The agreement, which has been in the works for nearly a year, will bring Beaches Resorts to the archipelago chain known as the ‘Jewels of the Caribbean.’ “The resort will undergo extensive reimagination and renovations,” stated Adam Stewart, Deputy Chairman of Sandals Resorts International. “Each time we expand, we bring with us the full potential of our 40 years in hospitality with the creation of new jobs and skillsets through our Corporate University, the on-the-ground work of our Sandals Foundation, the dedicated airlift and comprehensive global marketing campaigns that always follow. As we look to the future, this growth stands for tremendous possibility.”

The company’s announcement is not only a signal of what is to come, but a reminder to the global travel and tourism sector that the future of Caribbean tourism is bright. With nearly 40 years of success within the all-inclusive industry, Sandals Resorts International will continue to innovate and provide the 5-Star Luxury Included® vacation experience everyone has come to love.

Cobblers Cove, Barbados Unveils New Look, New Packages for 2013

Cobblers Cove, Barbados, an English Country House style hotel and one of the best loved hotels in the Caribbean, has unveiled a number of refurbishments just in time for the 2013 season. The improvements include the renovation of many of the popular suite accommodations, as well as a completely new look for the hotel’s main pool, which dates back to 1968 and has been lovingly restored to maintain its charm and character.

“We are extremely excited about the refurbishments at Cobblers Cove,” said General Manager, Alistair Forrest. “The end result is an enhancement to the guest experience and we look forward to sharing it with our returning guests, as well as our first-timers.”

The main pool and area has been completely refurbished with a spectacular Hawaiian-Blue, Diamond-Brite finish, in addition to stone tile around the water line and a coral stone rendering finish. The hotel has sustained the age-old beauty of the colonial plantation house deck by preserving and remodeling the brick tiling around the pool. The original plantation house, which was built in 1930, has received a thorough redecoration inside and out. The unique chandeliers and wall lights have been lovingly and painstakingly restored to their former glory to maintain authenticity.

The comprehensive suite redecoration program, which commenced last August, includes four Ocean Front Suites and seven Garden (formerly Superior) Suites with more to follow in 2013. In addition, the Camelot Suite has received a complete facelift with a stunning new plunge pool and Jacuzzi on the rooftop deck. The Colleton Suite pool has also received facelift to bring it in line with the hotel’s other pools.

In addition to the various refurbishments at the hotel, Cobblers Cove has also recently added some key members to its staff, including General Manager Alistair Forrest, Executive Chef Michael Harrison, Resident Manager Scarlette Clarke and Online Sales and Marketing Executive Jina Scheper.

New packages for 2013, include:

    • Joie de Vivre - Offers a complimentary upgrade at time of booking and exchange dining with two other luxury resorts of Barbados.
    • Family Suite Offer - Includes two suites for the price of one and a family program with sailing, swimming and tennis.
    • Heritage Tour - Includes a visit to St. Nicholas Abbey, St. John’s Parish Church, The Barbados Museum and The George Washington House.
    • Cobblers Cove Gourmet Retreat - Includes twice weekly cookery demonstrations by Executive Chef Michael Harrison, an escorted visit to local vegetable & fish markets and an organic farm as well as a fishing trip with the hotel’s own fisherman, Barker.
