Experience a taste of sunshine by visiting
Taste of London where the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) along
with Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Grenada, St. Kitts, Trinidad &
Tobago and Virgin Holidays will be hosting the Caribbean Pavilion.
Taste runs from June 21-24, 2012 and the CTO will be showcasing some of
the finest food and drink from across the region, from the most
traditional dishes to more modern takes on Caribbean cuisine.
As one would expect, the rum will be flowing freely and visitors can
sample Bermuda’s National drink, the Dark ‘n’ Stormy, BVI Pain Killer
rum cocktail, Grenadian rum from Westerhall distillery, Angostura 1919
reserve rum from Trinidad and Tobago, as well as indulging in a rare
chance to try St Kitts’ very special Brinley Gold flavoured rums, not
available or distributed anywhere in the UK.
London-based French Creole street food specialists, Bokit’La, will be
serving up some tasty savoury treats at the show and visitors can
indulge their sweet tooth with Caymanas rum cake and special chocolate
from Grenada and Tobago. Cookbooks and cocktail recipes will also be on
sale throughout courtesy of Promoting our Heritage and their Caribbean
bookshop.
Rum as you’ve never seen it before will also be served up by
RUMblin’, a collective of real rum aficionados who put rum in
practically anything – try their take on rum-based sorbets, cocktails
and even canapés.
For those who are inspired to head to the Caribbean and indulge in
even more gourmet treats, Virgin Holidays will be offering exclusive
deals on Caribbean holidays and bookings made at the show will receive a
case of wine. Visitors will also have the chance to win a luxury five
night stay at The Reefs Hotel in Bermuda with the Bermuda Department of
Tourism and British Airways.
