REGENT Announces Partnership with Surf Air to Establish Seaglider Service in Miami for Passengers in South Florida and the Caribbean
Rhode Island-based REGENT, the company pioneering all electric seagliders for zero-emission coastal travel, announced in October, 2023, that it will partner with Surf Air Mobility to establish a base for seaglider operations in Miami. The new service will provide passenger transport service for South Florida, including routes from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and the Caribbean Islands. This deal is the continuation of a longstanding relationship between REGENT and Surf Air subsidiary Southern Airways. The seagliders may be in service as soon as 2027.
Approximately 9 million passengers travel through South Florida each year across commercial air, ferry, rail, and car. Miami-based seaglider operations could serve as many as 1.5 million passengers annually, connecting travelers between coastal destinations as well as major transportation hubs including Miami International Airport and PortMiami.
